2nd tri flew by!

So yesterday was the last day of my 2nd trimester, and today is the 1st day of my 3rd trimester. The 2nd trimester went so fast. I kind suspected that it would, seeing as Summer always does. I have felt great, and it has been really fun to feel her moving more and more! I've had more energy, and I've still never really been sick. However, I have finally started to get a taste for pregnancy hormones this past month. Let's just say I have been a little more sensitive than usual. Good thing Scott loves me so much. My favorite hormonal moment occurred when I was walking out of WinCo one day. I saw a tall, lerpy (sp?) guy walking into the store. I was on the verge of tears as I imagined the sadness and heartache that he has experienced in his life. Yeah, I blame the hormones. At least I was able to laugh at myself pretty soon after the fact.

Well, here's a pic that I just had Scott take of my ever-expanding belly:

Lots of people tell me that I'm not very big for how far along I am (27 weeks). I know it's just because I'm so tall.

And in case you're wondering, no, we haven't decided on a name yet...

Fabulous Friends & Fall

Last Saturday, I drove up to Logan with my mission friend Big Al (her real name is Sara) and her daughter to visit our other mission friend Near (real name Carrie). It was wonderful to spend time reminiscing and catching up (& eating). I love those chicas!

Big Al is expecting her 2nd baby in a month, and Near had her 4th baby last month. Cute kids!

On Sunday, Scott and I took a drive up the canyon to look at the leaves. We discovered the beauty of Big Springs Park.

I think it's a little early in the season, but it was still beautiful and totally warm.

We loved the color of the leaves behind us.

Happy Fall, y'all!!

Laboring on Labor Day

I know it has been 3 weeks since Labor Day, but I just wanted to share how we labored that day.

We painted a first coat of green over ugly pale yellow in our baby's room. I would show the finished product, but we still have to finish the darn trim.

The rest of the weekend was spent with family and friends. Scott's cousins were in town, so we got together with his extended family a couple of times. I didn't get any pics though.

I did get a pic of me and Carla at the BYU vs Washington game. Go Cougs! Aside from the horrible heat and the painful bee sting I got, it was a great game.

My family got together for a BBQ in Jana's backyard. Faith, Cole, and Clay enjoyed the tent they created.

Ok, so there was way more playing than laboring going on that weekend. Fun times!

Carla Camping (kind of), Canning, & Cake

Is that enough C's for you, Melissa Cox? :)

Last Friday, Scott and I had one last camping trip planned at exotic Nunn's Park with our friends Carla, Melissa, Stacey, and Emily. I went up early to set up our tent to reserve a spot. It was hot and sunny then. But by the time we all got up there around dinnertime, it was pouring rain. We were glad to be so close to home so we could easily change plans.

Right before we gave up and left. I can't believe Melissa's brother and sister were actually able to get a fire started in that rain.

We headed to Melissa's mom's house for delicious tin foil dinners cooked in the oven and corn on the cob roasted on the grill. We also played Wits & Wagers and chatted.

Oh, and we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. Who needs a fire anyway? Scott was very happy to sleep in his bed that night.

We spent most of Saturday canning pickles. We accidentally got twice as many cucumbers as we usually do. YUM!

We ended up with 42 jars of pickles, and later we also canned 18 jars of chile sauce. Not sure where we're going to put the tomatoes we still plan on canning.

We did take a break from our canning to celebrate our good friend Jen's birthday. She loved getting on the saddle at Texas Roadhouse. And then we had friends over for cake and ice cream and to play Scum. Fun!

It was a busy, fun, productive weekend!
