Carter Family Reunion 2014

A few weeks ago, most of Scott's family was in town for a reunion. Shannon and her family had recently returned to the States from Germany, so it was a great opportunity to see her and her kids and to spend time with most of the Carter family. We missed the middle few days of the reunion due to the timing of my family's annual reunion, but here are some pics of the time we were able to spend with the Scott's family...

We went to the cool Provo Rec Center pool for the first time, and Hannah had a blast with her girl cousins.

Silly girls!

Cutie Maelie enjoyed the Provo pool too!

We also went to the This Is The Place Village for the first time. It was quite fun!

Hannah got to ride a pony for the first time.

Soon after this shot, Scott had to rescue Hannah who was slipping off her horse.

Maelie was quite happy with all the new sights and fun people to watch.

Hannah was pretty serious about her schoolwork.

We picnicked in the pavilion.

Hannah put on a little show.

And most of the girl cousins performed "Let It Go."

The train ride was nice.

Two adorable Hannahs!

Brigham Young's house was quite interesting.

Hannah found a hill to lounge on.

I took this selfie of me and Hannah on a little train ride.

Hannah loved the train ride.

Scott fed Maelie while the little girl cousins made rag dolls.

At first, Hannah wasn't so sure about her rag doll, but she warmed up to it.

Hannah was in absolute girl cousin heaven!

And she was also in heaven with the hard candy we bought in the gift store.

A very important part of the reunion occurred when Diana had her cute baby girl!

Baby Emma on the 4th of July.

Hannah and her cute cousins!

Getting ready for the fireworks.

Brunch in the canyon. Love these two Hannahs!

We had a great time with our Carter family! We hope to see them all more often!

13 months! Yikes!

Wow! I can't believe it's already been a month since Maelie turned one (and since I last posted)! We spent part of today at the zoo with my family. It was fun!

Here are some recent pics of cutie Maelie...

Celebrating her daddy's birthday!

 Peace out, yo!

Maelie enjoyed "swimming" at the new pool at the Orem rec center.

I LOVE that cute face and that crazy hair!!!

This is one of the only ways to get Maelie to sit still for longer than 10 seconds. She loves watching shows (Dora or Bubble Guppies) with her sister!

Maelie's boy cousins at the zoo today!

Cheesy Hannah and toothless Katelyn. Cuties!

Beautiful young ladies!

Jana and crazy eyes. :)

A selfie with my cute baby!

My peeps at the new exhibit.

Yay! The giraffes!

Classic lion drinking fountain!

Giddy-up, lion!

And now 13 things about Maelie...

1- At her one-year Well Child Check, Maelie weighed 18 1/2 pounds (27th percentile), was 30 inches long (76th percentile), and continued to have a huge noggin (98th percentile). :)

2- Maelie has the best fake laugh ever!

3- Maelie loves to look at books and to have them read to her.

4- During naptime Maelie likes to throw her binkie on the floor and then cry and get mad that she can't reach her binkie! Silly girl!

5- Maelie's favorite noise to make is spitting repeatedly. It seems especially loud in church.

6- Maelie will rarely eat baby food anymore. Right now her favorite things to eat are Cheerios and lots of bananas! She finally got her 5th tooth.

7- Maelie loves finger plays (especially 5 Little Ducks & 5 Little Monkeys), and she knows how do to many of the actions.

8- Maelie says "Momma," "Dadda," "Hannah," and "Aw Gaw" (all gone) regularly. And she also says things like "book," "hi," and "dat" (that) when she feels like it. Last night she was playing with a toy car and made some "vroom" sounds. Super cute! She also sign "all gone" all the time and seems to think it also means "more." :)

9- Lately Maelie's favorite game to play is to stand up behind me while I'm sitting on the floor and then walk from side to side of me and laugh hysterically when I look at her.

10- Maelie loves to sing and dance like her sister. She has figured out how to push the buttons on Hannah's Dora mic in order to amplify her voice. :)

11- Maelie took 2 unassisted steps about a week-and-a-half ago, but she has yet to repeat that. She just walks around all over the place while holding on to things. And she loves to stand without holding onto anything and then swing her arms back and forth.

12- Maelie loves her daddy, but she is still a huge momma's girl.

13- Maelie loves to copy everything we do. She's especially good (and cute) at folding her arms for a prayer.

Well, that's my little Maelie! We love her to pieces!!!
