Halloween Happenings

We had a fun Halloween this year!

We started our Halloween festivities by attending John & Megan's annual Halloween trunk-or-treat party a few days before Halloween...

Hannah was an adorable elephant, but there were no actual trunks with treats.

She did find plenty of treats inside, along with her cute cousins.

The day before Halloween we carved our big pumpkin...

Hannah observed from a distance while Scott began the knife work.

After watching Scott scoop out some of the guts, Hannah was ready to dig in.

And boy did she go to town!

It totally surprised us that she didn't mind the gooey-ness.

And it cracked us up that she knew exactly what to do. Reach, grab, discard goo.

Halloween day...

Hannah enjoyed trick-or-treating at her daddy's alien-infested office. She called the blown-up purple alien "guy."

Then I took this cute elephant to watch her cousins' school costume parade.

We went to Salem to trick-or-treat in my parents' neighborhood, and Charlie Brown (aka Jana) joined us.

Hannah absolutely loved getting candy and would repeatedly say "more" in between houses.

After dinner in Salem, we headed to trunk-or-treat in Santaquin and got quite the haul of candy.

After a quick visit with Grandma Meservy, we went to Scott's parents' house where Hannah enjoyed a sucker.

And she also enjoyed playing with her great-aunt Barbara, as well as the light sticks her grandma gave her.

I then went to my friend Carla's party while Scott brought Hannah home to sleep. What a day!

And today..

We finally cooked and froze our baking pumpkins for delicious pumpkin soup.

And we used my mom's yummy recipe to roast the seeds (which are way better than regular seeds).

We hope you all had a great Halloween! Now I'm ready for Christmas and am already listening to Christmas music! :)

Pumpkinland

We had a great time last week taking Hannah to pick out pumpkins at a local garden center.

Hannah did not want to get off of this huge pumpkin.

She was totally fascinated.

Phew! We found another huge pumpkin for her to sit on.

Hannah didn't know what to think of the creepy, blow-up cat.

She loved playing with the wagon.

We only bought baking pumpkins at the garden center, so we also went to WinCo to pick out a big carving pumpkin.

Hannah liked our pumpkin outing so much that we decided to go to Pumpkinland at the garden center a few days later with Hannah's cousins.

We found our way through the corn maze twice, and we even found the secret room!

Hannah giggled nonstop in the bounce house.

What a bunch of cute clowns!

Hannah thoroughly enjoyed crawling through tunnels and getting really dirty. She also really enjoyed cock-a-doodle-doo-ing right back at the roosters (not pictured).

Hannah turned 22 months old today, and we celebrated in style by getting out her new potty. We bought it a couple of weeks ago because it was on sale and because Hannah has been very interested in all things bathroom for a couple of months now (wonder where she gets that from? :)). She also is very aware and verbal about when she dirties her diaper. Before today Hannah had loved just looking at the potty box and happily pointing at the pictures of kids on the potty. So you can just imagine how thrilled she was when I actually pulled the potty out of the box this afternoon (even though we were going to wait until her birthday). Hannah absolutely loves her new potty!

Hannah enjoyed sitting on the potty fully clothed off and on all afternoon. She would cry when it was time to leave the bathroom, and then she would tell the potty bye-bye and blow it kisses. Adorable!

Here's a closeup of the potty. It wasn't hard for Scott to convince me to go with the blue potty instead of the pink one once I saw all those baseballs, bats, and gloves.

I guess we'll see how long Hannah's potty joy lasts.

Now I've got to decide if Hannah and I are ready for the real deal. I need advice. What was your favorite method of potty training? How long did it take to work? Is 22 months too early to start? Am I crazy? Don't answer that last question. :)
