First, some adorable pics of Mae...
17 months old:
Sleepover with cousins!
Maelie loves to play dress-up at Grandma and Grandpa Clayson's. She has fabulous style. :)
18 months old:
Temple Square with the Claysons. She can't put her arms down! :)
Watching her cousins and aunt Lissa ice skate.
Maelie loves the gigantic dollhouse that Santa brought her and Hannah. She believes it is a little house just for her--she tries to climb the stairs, and she loves to hang out in the garage. :)
19 months old:
This picture shows a lot about Maelie's personality--she makes big messes, is constantly into everything (sometimes literally--like inside a tote), loves books...
...and her hair is always in her eyes because she rips out bows and elastics as soon as I can get them in her hair. Bless her heart. The only time Maelie leaves an elastic in her hair is during Nursery because I put it in her hair right before she goes in, and then she is too distracted by all the toys to pull it out. It's a little miracle.
Just sitting in her kitchen. Silly girl.
Playing doctor--she thinks the stethoscope goes around her belly. Cute! She loves her binky lately. We only give it to her at night and during naptime, but she often finds it and promptly puts it in her mouth.
This is how Maelie smiles when we say "cheese." Super cute! She sure loves her big sister!
At her 18-month well child check Maelie weighed 24.25 lbs (72nd percentile), was 33 inches long (85th percentile), and her head was 18.75 inches (84th percentile--low for our family!). Her pediatrician was impressed that Maelie was able to point out so many of her body parts and remembered to point out both of her eyes and both of her ears.
Maelie is such an adorable sassafrass! She is super spunky and funny and rambunctious and loud and precocious. As calm as Hannah was at this age, Maelie is equally not calm. :) She went through a bit of an aggressive phase right after our move (biting Scott and Hannah, pulling Hannah's hair, and scratching Scott's eye badly enough to send him to Instacare), but fortunately that didn't last very long. Maelie loves to dance and laugh and run and jabber to everyone she meets. I have had many comments from people in our new ward about how cute and funny and friendly she is. Maelie loves baby dolls, books, puzzles, coloring, music with a beat, Dora, Bubble Guppies, making animal sounds, climbing, and she is totally obsessed with balls. She is talking more and more each day. Her favorite word is still no (which usually means yes, even though she can actually say yes), but my favorite words to hear her say are please, help, sorry, and ho ho. Scott loves to hear her say yes. Maelie absolutely adores Hannah and follows her everywhere. She is definitely a mommy's girl, but she really loves rough-housing with her daddy.
We love Maelie so much and can't imagine our lives without her!

Oh I love the update! She is a doll. She sounds like a very typical toddler, messes and fiesty behavior and all. Love it!
